Arizona Peridot is mined just outside the town of Globe, on the San Carlos reservation. Though peridot is found all over the globe, Arizona Peridot is the most consistently colored, producing a highly sought-after electric green color. Peridot is named after the old Arabic word “feridat,” which means glowing gem. It was also known by the Egyptians as the Gem of the Sun.
